About Nando’s
Nando’s was founded in 1987 in Rosettenville, Johannesburg, by Portuguese-born Fernando Duarte and South African-born Robert Brozin, who bought a takeaway called Chickenland and renamed it. The first UK restaurants opened in 1992 in the west London suburbs of Ealing and Earls Court. The UK is now the company’s largest market, with around 450 restaurants reported in 2021, and Nando’s is known for Portuguese-inspired, flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken.

Deals and rewards
- Nando’s Rewards: Nando’s says new members get a free starter with a £7 minimum spend (T&Cs apply). You collect a Chilli on each day you spend £7 or more, and Chillies convert into free food.
- Ordering options: eat in, delivery (Deliveroo) or collect, with ordering from your table through the app.
- Meal deals: lunch and set deals are sometimes run by region and time. We could not confirm a current UK-wide deal, so check the app for your restaurant.
Allergens, dietary and nutrition
Nando’s says each restaurant keeps its Food Allergy and Nutritional Information on tablets in the restaurant, and you can filter its website menu by dietary requirement before you visit. If you have an allergy, tell staff when you order so your meal can be prepared with extra care.
Nando’s also lists a Halal Restaurants page on its website, so use the restaurant finder to check your branch. We do not publish allergen or calorie data ourselves, because it changes and the official source is the reliable one.
Opening hours and locations
Nando’s has hundreds of UK restaurants, from city centres and shopping centres to retail parks. Most open at lunchtime and stay open until late evening, but hours differ by restaurant and day. Use the restaurant finder on Nando’s website or app to check your nearest branch.
